What is a shooting marble? ›

Also called the "Boss" or "Taw", the shooter marble is used to play Ringer and other marble games. In official tournaments in the U.S., your shooter must be between 3/4" and 1/2". A player needs only one shooter to play the game. All sizes are approximations and can vary from one marble to the next.
